This cozy poster is an advertisement for Danish State Railway and is a part of a collection of six posters - you may find a few others from the collection in this shop.
Each individual poster in collection displays a train driving in different seasons and weather types. The weather in Denmark changes a lot during the year which is shown in the different posters with snow, rain, sun etc. You may find a few others from the collection in this shop.
Per Arnoldi was the first who drew posters for Danish State Railways (DSB) and in 1975 he created his small red toy train that runs through the countryside in all weathers. The poster is the perfect for the walls that need some colors and life but I my opinion the collection could fit very well in the bedroom or in the stylish kids room too.
Arnoldi (1941) is a self-taught, world-renowned modernist artist. He is particularly known for his posters and considered one of Denmark's most important poster artists. He is known for a tight and easily recognizable form and color language. As a painter, Per Arnoldi always uses primary colors (red/yellow/blue) on a bed of black - just like on this very poster.
Arnoldi is represented in a number of well known museums in the world including Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Museum of Modern Art in New York, Museum of Modern Art in Toyama
and Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
This poster is a great contribution to the modernist legacy that (without a doubt) will spice up any wall it is hanged on. The poster is quite hard to find so if you find yourself in the need of something quite unique - you came to the right place.
