"Do not hang yourself in trifles - hang yourself in rope from Randers" - so says an old adage in Jutland, Denmark.
Whatever that means we hereby give quite a unique and rare lithograph. The poster is advertisement for Randers rope factory which is trying to sell you steel wire rope for ships.
Randers Reb - today Randers International a/s - was founded in 1840 and is based in northern Denmark and still produces steel wires for many different reason. Among the clients are the fishing industry, armed forces around the world and even playgrounds.
By looking at the image you are set in the position of being the cliffhanger on a ship in a stormy weather about to collide with another ship. This is without a doubt a true artistic gem from the 1940s - a gem with a few signs of ageing like and person born in that decade (see details below).
A really nice frame which this beauty truly deserves will cover most of these imperfections. I you wish to preserve this poster better I suggest getting it mounted on cardboard by a pro. Mounting can be a little costly but it happens then you have a piece of art that will last.
Thanks for watching and please let me know if you have any questions.
